In the late winter 2014, I began researching for a scout trip to Gettysburg, PA. The main focus of the trip would be to complete the Gettysburg Heritage Trails Program. It had been over 15 years since our troop visited the historic site and many of the specifics of the trip had long been forgotten. Starting from scratch, I began my search for where to stay, what to do, where to eat, and more. I quickly realized that there was no good source for answers. This was a very disappointing revelation. For the benefit of leaders looking for information on putting together a successful trip to one of the country’s most amazing historic sites, I have put together this resource. Please bear in mind that these are only recommendations based on our experience during one trip, but I at the very least I hope that you can use this to build your own experience.
